Female burglars greeted by homeowner with a shotgun, suffer life-changing injuries (VIDEO)

Two women are in critical condition after getting shot while attempting to break into an Atascocita, Texas, home Wednesday just after noon.

The two women initially knocked on the front door of the home, but the homeowner, who is a retiree in his 60s, said he never answers the door during the day. But according to a report by KHOU, when the homeowner failed to answer the door, the two women began throwing rocks at the windows near the door.

The homeowner made two calls to 911 to report the break-in, but before police responded, the women had broken the window glass and reached inside to open the door. The homeowner then responded with a shotgun and opened fire on them both.

One woman was shot in the doorway to the home, while the other woman collapsed as she ran across the lawn. Both women were struck in the upper torso.

When authorities arrived the women were airlifted to the hospital. One woman remains in critical condition, while the other is listed in stable condition. According to The Humble Observer , both women are expected to survive, but will likely have life-changing injuries. One suspect, believed to be in her mid-20s, underwent surgery but suffered a spinal cord injury and may be paralyzed. The other suspect, who is said to be 17 years-old, also underwent surgery and may lose an arm.

The incident is still under investigation, but at this point authorities said they believe the shooting was justified. Some neighbors agree.

“You break into someone’s house, I believe you deserve to get shot,” said neighbor Derenda Carr. “Cops don’t get there in time; there’s no way they would’ve got there in time.”

Jennifer Lechner, who lives nearby, said she had seen the women in the neighborhood before the break-in occurred.

“I saw the car this morning patrolling up the road, and I actually looked for a cop to warn him about the vehicle,” Lechner said. “I just saw how slow they were going, and the driver’s side door was kind of open.”

Authorities later discovered that the vehicle driven by the women, who were not from the area, was reported stolen.

This Could Be The Biggest Seasonal Flu Lie That Exists

It is said that the seasonal flu kills between 250,000 to 500,000 people worldwide, a number that to some reading might sound incredibly high. Perhaps this is why the flu vaccine is so heavily offered? The key question that is creating a great amount of controversy is whether or not the numbers we read about the amount of flu deaths are actually accurate?[1]



When winter time rolls around we start hearing the term “flu season.” As a result, we are offered the flu vaccine as a means to protect ourselves from the flu. I was just reading a public health flyer the other day that stated the best way to protect yourself from the flu is to take the vaccine. It seemed odd that the whole public health flyer seemed focused on making sure people knew the flu vaccine was a must-have. I could understand that, if the death stats were actually accurate.





What Are The Stats Based On?



The World Health Organization is the source of the death count annually that is seen above. The CDC states that about 36,000 people in the US die each year from the flu. Although to some these sources seem credible, where they are getting their information from could be much more of a PR move than a legitimate stat.[2]



According to the National Vital Statistics System in the U.S., annual flu deaths in 2010 were only 500 for the year. Ulcers, pregnancy, childbirth and hernias were all around double or more compared to the flu. This of course didn’t even compare to things like heart disease or cancer which ranged somewhere in the 500,000 range. The story is the same in Canada.



Interestingly, the CDC released a data paper in 2010 that shows how they categorize flu deaths. The stat is grouped with Pneumonia deaths. If one were to look, it states that 50,097 deaths were attributed to flu and pneumonia, but when that number is broken down, pneumonia is responsible for 49,597 and the flu only 500. [3] The CDC itself acknowledges and admits that there is only a slim relationship, stating “only a small proportion of deaths… only 8.5 per cent of all pneumonia and influenza deaths [are] influenza-related.”



In Canada the numbers are approximately the same, reported deaths of the flu have never surpassed 350 during a flu season. Some years were as little as 150 or so. Furthermore, hospitalizations from the flu never surpassed 7000 for the entire country in some of the worst recorded years. [4]



The interesting thing about the WHO is that in their estimations they show no measure of how they arrived at their numbers. This is why controversy is so heavy when it comes to actual flu numbers. This is perhaps also why many point to the numbers as a PR stunt to sell more vaccinations.



Multiple Sources Agree



To take it even further, the American Journal of Public Health and the British Medical Journal feel the number of 500 deaths in the US could even be too high. They state that only about 15-20 per cent of people who come down with flu-like symptoms actually have the influenza virus. It is believed that the other 80-85 per cent actually caught rhinovirus or other germs that are indistinguishable from the true flu without laboratory tests, which are rarely done.



“U.S. data on influenza deaths are a mess,” states a 2005 article in the British Medical Journal entitled “Are U.S. flu death figures more PR than science?” The article points to the fact that the claimed 36,000 yearly flu-death figure commonly claimed is overstated and incorrect. This makes calling pneumonia/influenza as the 7th leading cause of death incorrect as well.



Is The Vaccine Even Effective?



The former Chief Vaccine Office at the FDA, Dr. Anthony Morris states: “there is no evidence that any influenza vaccine thus far developed is effective in preventing or mitigating any attack of influenza.”



Of course this statement has been attacked by many “science” blogs stating he isn’t an expert on the flu and that his opinion shouldn’t be trusted. A classic move by opposers where an attack is set out on statements made using emotional arguments attempting to make others feel unintelligent for questioning something. Yet the opposers often provide no evidence to state the research or opinion is incorrect. This is perhaps one of the most dangerous aspects of parts of the scientific community. To think of how many things are ignored or shot down out of arrogance and fear of overturning old ideas is astonishing.



The prestigious Cochrane Library released a review in 2009 stating “There is not enough evidence to decide whether routine vaccination to prevent influenza in healthy adults effective.” [5]



Given the ineffectiveness of the vaccine and the potential side effects that go along with the vaccine, why put yourself at risk? The influenza does not appear to show any moderate risk of hospitalization or death and avoiding the flu can be done very easily with natural means.



Perhaps it’s finally time to end the hype and stop supporting the vaccine all together?



Sadly the CDC has created a mass market for the flu vaccine and enlisted doctors and the media to fear many into taking it. Since very few have questioned the efficacy of such a vaccine, the hysteria continues blindly.

A Nuclear Fallout Shelter May Not Be Such a Bad Idea After All

The most common definition of a fallout shelter is an enclosed space designed to protect humans from radioactive debris, fallout in other words, resulting from a nuclear blast. Public fallout shelters were common during the cold war. However, private shelters could be found in the backyard of homes throughout the country during this period as well. Maybe it is time you considered one.

Nukes 101

The massive fireball created from a nuclear explosion vaporizes matter. Once vaporized the matter is then exposed to neutrons, absorbs those neutrons and thus creates deadly radioactive material. Rainfall will carry the material to earth, or it can form into a dust that resembles ash and fall to earth. Wind and humidity along with other factors will have an effect on how widespread the distribution of the material becomes.

The material once it coats a surface can be washed or swept into trenches and covered with soil to help protect an area. Wearing proper protection while cleaning up is critical to your safety.

The fallout material emits alpha and beta particles, as well as gamma rays. These materials of course pose a significant hazard to all life forms. You need protection from the fallout, and a so-called fallout shelter can minimize or completely reduce exposure. You would have to stay confined until the materials have decayed to safe levels.

The Basics

You need shielding material that reduces gamma rays, so what materials will shield humans from gamma rays. Keep in mind the more shielding in place means a greater reduction. For example, 0.4 inches of lead, 2.4 inches of concrete and 3.6 inches of earth, each independent of each other will reduce gamma rays by 50 percent. The mathematics state that you need shielding that reduces gamma ray exposure by a factor of 1,000, so you need 10 times the thickness of any quantity of material that acts as a shield.

A filed expedient shelter is one where there is at least 3 feet of earth overhead and the roofing material itself would increase the thickness of the overall shielding. A simple trench that has a roof structure than can withstand the weight of three feet of earth would be relatively easy to construct compared to other structures.

Any material to include, clothing, snow, ice, steel and water would offer some form of protection, and you have to remember any protection is better than no protection. You need to have distance from the blast, limited exposure and proper shielding to survive.

Any building would offer some form of protection and the further from ground zero the greater protection a building would offer. Your basement could become a fallout shelter and would be an ideal one if it were below ground level. Earth or even snow could be piled up along the outer walls to enhance the protection. If the basement has a dirt floor, you can also pile soil on the inside along the walls for enhancement and use the depression created by the excavation for greater protection as well.

The doorway (s) leading to the basement can be covered in heavy plastic, or wood to provide more shielding. The concern of course is the ability to stay in the basement/shelter for an extended period. This means you would need all the necessary supplies to include a means for human waste disposal for an extended period.

Other options would include building a fallout shelter on your property or commission to have one built. Considerations would include air supply, water source, energy source, waste disposal and sufficient space.

Threat Assessment

Russia is talking nuclear options, North Korea has nuclear capabilities and they are unstable, and Iran is doing everything they can to obtain a nuclear weapon as well. If you doubt that terrorist’s organizations are not doing everything they can to obtain a nuclear weapon then you have not been paying attention.

It has been reported that terrorist have also used chemical weapons, so they do have access and certainly have the willingness to use them. A fallout shelter could protect you from certain chemical and biological attacks as well. Ebola appears to be uncontrollable in West Africa and if not contained soon it is simply a matter of time before it becomes an even bigger problem in the United States.

Fallout shelters could also be used for protection from certain natural disasters, so there is every reason to consider building one given all that is going on in the world today.

The biggest problem you would face is having enough supplies stockpiled. Two weeks would be the minimum amount of time you could expect to be in the shelter, but prepare as if you would be in there for six months.

Depending on how close to the blast and under certain conditions you may be able to come above ground for short periods at the end of the first week for an hour or possibly longer. However, to do so you would need the means to measure radiation to determine the risk. Having the means to monitor for public information would be essential.

Keep in mind a nuclear blast would create an EMP and depending on how close you are to the blast, you may find that your electronics are rendered useless. You may want to consider employing shielding techniques for radios and other communication devices and store them shielded in the shelter.

Thanks to one of Healthy Holistic Living.com’s readers I have a new favorite salad dressing! this tastes wonderful and it’s medicinal to boot!



Anti-Inflammatory Turmeric Dressing





Ingredients:

• 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric


• 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt


• 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper


• 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder


• 1 teaspoon of dried dill weed


• 2 teaspoons of honey


• 3 tablespoons of vinegar


• 1/4 cup extra light/ extra virgin olive oil

Directions:



Put all ingredients, as listed in to a glass jar or shaker bottle with a tight fitting lid. Shake well!! Pour and toss over your favorite salad greens. I make this every night for my family’s dinner salad. It is a favorite in our home.



Note: If you prefer a thicker dressing put all the ingredients in a blender with 1/2 an avocado – blend well. Simple, now you have a creamy anti-inflammatory dressing.
