So, if you're sick of companies tracking your online behavior and selling that data to other companies so they can either contact you or you prefer more personal privacy on the internet...(which is always a bonus...unless you want to be an internet star)...this article is for you.
Anyways here is what you have to do:
1. Consider this paid service called DeleteMe.
2. Check in with your phone company- some phone companies have your information listed online. Ask your provider to make you unlisted.
3. Close your email account and switch to unseen.is email which is encrypted and has a server from iceland...I have it and I use it for everything! They also have a chat room... so get rid of skype and keep your privacy!
4. Unsubscribe from mailing lists...I have a lot to go.
5. Check if your on spokeo.com it's super creepy. If you are on spokeo do the following to get rid of your information:
Go to the website and look yourself up, then click on your name… once you have done that copy the URL in your web browser. Now, go to the bottom right of the page in small faded blue text, click privacy (third from the left). Once done, paste in the link you copied from the page you found yourself on and enter your email and the security code listed. This is a case where I would use a second email account (your designated junk-email account), not your main email to avoid the build up of possible spam emails that follow. It will then send you an email confirmation where you must click the URL to confirm removal. You have been removed (sileo para 1).
Stay groovy!
Sincerely,
Radical Rose
