DEMONS, GHOSTS, ANGELS, ELEMENTAL SPIRITS AND KOSMOKRATERS - WHAT THEY REALLY ARE

DEMONS ARE NOT SPIRITS OF DEAD MEN, SPIRITS OF DEAD NEPHILIM, OR A PRE-ADAMIC RACE
I have read many books over the years about what demons are and where they come from. The most common suggestions for their origin are: they are the spirits of a pre-Adamic race, the spirits of the Nephilim , or the spirits of wicked dead people. I have never been satisfied with any of these explanations. Most of these explanations come from traditions or extra-Biblical literature. I wanted an explanation from Scripture, if there was one.
THE DEMON SPIRIT AND KING AHAB
As I sat On my front porch one morning thinking about this, suddenly the scene from the 22nd chapter of First Kings came into my mind. In that chapter we have a vision of the heavenly realm and what is going on in the invisible spirit world. God allowed an evil spirit to inspire a group of false prophets. The false prophets advised the wicked king Ahab to go into a battle that would result in his defeat and death.
Micaiah, the true prophet of the Lord, tried to warn Ahab about what was really going on. Here is what Micaiah said:
" Hear thou therefore the word of the LORD: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
And the LORD said, Who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one said on this manner, and another said on that manner.
And there came forth a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will persuade him.
And the LORD said unto him, Wherewith? And he said, I will go forth, and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he said, Thou shalt persuade him, and prevail also: go forth, and do so.
A SPIRIT FROM THE "HOST"
Notice, the demon inspiring the false prophets came out from "the host of heaven". "Host" is translated "armies" in other translations. "Host" does not just mean a large number but an organized number made up of ranks like an army. Now, it doesn't say an ANGEL came out from the host, it says a "SPIRIT" came out. So, from this we can see very clearly what a demon is.
AN ANGEL AND A SPIRIT ARE NOT THE SAME
Scripture makes a distinction between an angel and a spirit in Acts 28: 8&9:
"For Sadducees say that there is no resurrection—and no angel or spirit; but the Pharisees confess both.
Then there arose a loud outcry. And the scribes of the Pharisees’ party arose and protested, saying, "We find no evil in this man; but if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God."
DEMONS ARE LOWER LEVEL OR ELEMENTAL SPIRITS
A demon is a lower level spirit in the armies of heaven. This will become clearer as we move along.
THE ELEMENTAL SPIRITS WHO INSPIRE FALSE PROPHETS ARE CALLED DEMONS, THEY ARE ONE AND THE SAME
The spirit who inspired Ahab's false prophets would be called a demon.
1 Timothy 4:1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,
1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
THE ""HOST" OF THE SPIRIT WORLD IS MADE UP OF SPIRITS ARRANGED BY RANK.
NOTICE, SOME WERE ON GOD'S RIGHT HAND AND SOME ON THE LEFT
The spirit realm is made up of spirit beings arranged by rank. This is true of both good and evil spirit beings.
THE EVIL SPIRITS
Ephesians 6:12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
Notice the ranks given: rulers, authorities, powers, and evil spirits. The subject of the angels, what they really are, and how they are arranged, would take another article. The difference between an angel and a spirit is: the angels are spirit beings who rule in the army, and the elemental spirits are like the foot soldiers.
So, a demon is a lower level spirit being or what is called an "elemental spirit".
ELEMENTAL SPIRITS
If you have read anything about the occult you have probably heard about elemental spirits but the word actually comes from the Bible. The Greek word is "stoicheion". It occurs seven times in the New Testament: Gal. 4: 3&9, Col. 2: 8&20, Heb. 5:2, 2 Pet. 3: 10&12.
The Greek word signifies any first things from which others in a series, or a composite whole, take their rise. It is used of the letters of the alphabet, the atoms and subatomic particles that make up the universe, and of the spirit beings that are in charge of carrying out the schemes of the higher powers. Paul's use of the word seems to always mean elemental spirits.
In the same way that atoms are the basic units of matter, letters are the basic units of words, so elemental spirits are the basic personalities of the spirit realm.
Elemental spirits are like the worker bees that surround the queen bee and do all the work of building and maintaining the hive. In the same way the elementals are sent out to carry out the schemes of the Kosmokratōrs. According to the Septuagint and the Dead Sea Scrolls the nations are all ruled by powerful angelic world rulers. Here is the way they translate Deuteronomy 32:8:
"When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance,
when he divided mankind,
he fixed the borders of the peoples
according to the number of the sons of God"
The Septuagint says: "according to the angels of God".
THE LORD OF THE FLIES
Satan is called the "prince of the power of the air" (Eph. 2:2) and "Beelzebub" (Math.12:27)
Beelzebub means "lord of the flies". Elemental spirits fill the atmosphere around us like swarms of flies and Satan is their ruler. This is what these titles for Satan mean.
KOSMOKRATERS
In Ephesians 6:12, the powerful angels who have been placed over the nations are called "Kosmokrators" : " For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the RULERS of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places"
Kosmokrators is plural and means the "world rulers" in control of the dark spirits of this present age. The word translated "world" is "aion" which means age. More about the word "age" later.
In Daniel 10 we get a picture of a conflict between these evil Kosmokrators and the angels of God. In this chapter an angel is dispatched to take a message to Daniel but the angel is prevented from getting through for 21 days by the powerful prince of Persia. Michael the Archangel has to come to help the lower level angel. The angel tells Daniel that he will have to face another powerful Kosmokrator called the prince of Grecia on his return. The angel who had to be helped here is a lower rank angel, not an elemental spirit.
The prince of Persia and the prince of Grecia were Kosmokrators over certain regions of the earth. The domains of the Kosmokrators are called principalities because they are the angelic princes over their assigned territories. This is what Ephesians 6:12 means by: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities". The ultimate threat to the real Church is the Kosmokrators working through elemental spirits.
SUMMARY SO FAR
So, what we have seen is that the spirit world is made up of spirit beings that are arranged in ranks and the lower level spirits are what we call demons or elemental spirits. It was an elemental spirit who inspired the false prophets in 1 Kings 22. These elemental spirits and demons are the same thing as can be seen from 1 Timothy 4:1 NLT : "Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.
Evidently, when Satan fell, a third of all the various ranks of spirits followed him.
ELEMENTAL SPIRITS CAN BE GOOD OR BAD, THIS IS WHY THEY ARE ON GOD'S LEFT AND RIGHT
Elemental spirits can be from God or from Satan. That is why we are told to "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits (plural), whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world." 1 John 4:1
W. E. Vine says this about demons: ""a demon," signified, among pagan Greeks, an inferior deity, whether good or bad.
The idea of the daimonic, though sometimes equated with the fiendish and "demonic" is more often used to indicate inspiration and motivation by a spiritual force or genius Wikiquotes
ELEMENTAL SPIRITS, THOUGH LOWER IN RANK, ARE STILL EXTREMELY POWERFUL
Now, just because elemental spirits make up the lower rank does not mean that they are not powerful and intelligent. They are extremely powerful and intelligent. We get the word "genius" from them.
THESE SPIRITS CONTROL THE INTELLECTUAL AND CULTURAL ATMOSPHERE OF THIS WORLD
The Ephesians passage quoted above (the rulers of the darkness of this world) says that these spirits actually control the intellectual and cultural atmosphere that surrounds the various people groups throughout the world and throughout the transitions of times and epochs.
SPIRITS OF THE "AGE"
The word translated "world" is "aion" and it does not mean the globe we live on, but the age we live in.
W. E. Vine defines it this way: "The force attaching to the word is not so much that of the actual length of a period, but that of a period marked by spiritual or moral characteristics".

The Greeks called all otherworldly beings daemons (also daimons). Daemons included guardian spirits, helpful spirits, spirits of the four elements (earth, air, fire, water), and spirits of a place (spiritus loci). ELEMENTAL SPIRITS/DEMONS INSPIRE THE ANTICHRIST MOVEMENTS IN THE WORLD
Many of the great thinkers who have influenced our world admit that their ideas came from demons.
The Greeks gave the name dæmon to some of these elementals, especially those of the higher orders, and worshiped them. Probably the most famous of these dæmons is the mysterious spirit which instructed Socrates, and of whom that great philosopher spoke in the highest terms. Those who have devoted much study to the invisible constitution of man realize that it is quite probable the dæmon of Socrates and the angel of Jakob Böhme. The sylphs of Facius Cardin, the philosopher of Milan; the salamander seen by Benvenuto Cellini; the pan of St. Anthony; and le petit homme rouge (the little red man, or gnome) of Napoleon Bonaparte, have found their places in the pages of history." In addition to these we know that Helena Blavatsky, Aleister Crowley, Joseph Smith, Muhammad, and others claim that a spirit or an elemental guided them. There are many videos on YouTube of musicians and actors who give credit for their remarkable success to some kind of possession that takes place when they perform.

ELEMENTAL SPIRITS APPEAR IN MANY DIFFERENT WAYS
"The Elemental Kingdom contain such creatures (often considered to Be mythical) as fairies, goblins, gnomes and elves, leprechauns, tree people, brownies, undines, mermaids and sylphs. They are known as ‘Elementals’ because they are made up of the ‘ethers’ and are ‘ethereal’ and therefore invisible to (most) of us" Om Times
The Sylphs mentioned above are spirits of the air, They may appear as orbs of light or UFOs. Others may appear as ghosts or aliens, but they are all just different manifestations of elemental spirits seducing people away from Christ.
FALSE MEMORIES
Elementary spirits also have the power to manufacture false memories. People under hypnosis may have false memories of aliens, UFOs, or even past lives because false memories have been implanted in their brains by these beings.
WHY DO DEMONS/ELEMENTALS WANT TO POSSESS PEOPLE
Matthew 12: 43-45 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first...
The word translated "wicked" above is from the Greek word "ponēros" and the meaning is "evil that wants to affect others". It wants to draw others in and make them evil too. The English word pernicious is a good translation of this Greek word.. A kakos (evil) man is willing to perish in his own corruption. But a ponēros (pernicious) person, seeks to drag everyone else down with him.
Demons are pernicious and desire to express their evil nature. Elemental spirits want to manifest themselves but they need a vehicle for that. If they lose a host, they will seek another, even an animal like a pig.

The inability to express yourself is pure torment, as you can see by these quotes. The elemental spirits find relief through possessing a host.
UNSAVED PEOPLE ARE UNDER THE CONTROL OF DEMONS OR ELEMENTAL SPIRITS.
Ephesians 2: 1&2 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,
2 Corinthians 4: 3&4 But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.
Dabbling in the occult in any form opens the portal for these elementary spirits to take full possession of a person.
CHRISTIANS HAVE BEEN DELIVERED FROM THE POWER OF THE ELEMENTAL SPIRITS BUT WE MUST ALWAYS BEWARE OF THEIR SUBTLE INFLUENCE
Colossians 2:20 ESV If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to regulations—
Galatians 4:9 RSV but now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and beggarly elemental spirits, whose slaves you want to be once more?
ELEMENTAL SPIRITS AND THE NEW WORLD ORDER
Satan has total control of the angels and elemental spirits (demons) under him and he wants to extend this control over every aspect of the entire human race.
This plan to control the world is called "The Mystery of Iniquity". The Holy Spirit, working through the true Church, is the only hinderance to Satan's plan. Satan has control of everyone but Christians and he knows that destroying them is the only way he can have total control. The Mark of the Beast will be a test that will reveal who the true Christians are because they will refuse the mark. He will do all in his power to destroy them. This is what the New World Order is all about - total control.
Ahab, at the beginning of this study, was brought to ruin by these spirits and, in the same way, the New World Order will come crashing down at Armageddon because of them too.
Revelation 16: 13&14 And I saw, coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet, three unclean spirits like frogs. For they are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty.
"God permits Satan's miracles and gives the reprobate up to judicial delusion preparatory to their destruction. The Egyptian magicians were God's instruments in hardening Pharaoh's heart that led to his distruction. With the frogs their power ceased. So these frogs, or whatever is antitypical to it, will be the last effort of the dragon, beast, and false prophet."
Isaiah 24: 21
And it shall come to pass in that day, that Jehovah will punish the host of the high ones on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
FINAL SUMMARY
Demons are not the spirits of the Nephilim, or a pre-Adamic race, or the wicked dead. They are created spirit beings called elemental spirits.
Elemental spirits are the foot soldiers or worker bees who implement the schemes of the powerful world rulers in the spirit realm. They do this by influencing the human world rulers in all their respective positions of influence.
They are opposed to Christ and seduce people away from the Gospel.
They can take any form in order to deceive. They may claim to be aliens, dead people, or even an angelic messenger. They can cause false memories.
Their end game is to bring the whole world under the total control of Satan through a one world government.
