Hello citizens, I am a high school student, and something happened the other day that I found rather peculiar.
I am in a JROTC class. About a week or two ago, we were taken to the bus ramp of the school during class, where an Army bus was parked. A woman stood at one side of it by the door, telling us to come on in small groups of about 5-10. I was in the first group to go in.
First, we were in a small room on the bus. It was dark, with about five flat screens in front of us. The walls were black tinted glass. Everything looked strangely futuristic. The woman, wearing ACUs and sitting in a chair beside the TVs, told us to carefully watch what was about to be broadcast on the televisions. Soon, news reporters from all over the world were shown on the screens: the year was 2032, and a major terrorist group had attacked major countries around the world. Bombs were placed beneath cities like London, and refineries were also charged with bomb threats. You see one news reporter at the site of a refinery – there’s a loud boom, the cameras fall, the building starts smoking. The reporter picks up the camera and starts running as the connection is timed out.
The TVs shut off and one of the walls slides to the side and we enter the second section. There’s another soldier in ACUs, and he’s sitting beside another set of flat screens. There, two soldiers show up on the screens and tell us that in the next and final room, we will be put in charge of creating armor or weapons that will aid our military. When that’s through, the black door slides open on the other side, and we enter another room.
This room has about five computer-like systems. For each system, there’s a large screen on top, a smaller touch screen on the bottom, and two smaller display screens on each side. Within minutes, we were to create either body armor (with elements such as skin regeneration, wall-penetrating goggles, etc.) or some sort of futuristic military vehicle. When we were finished, they simply told us that none of this was actually happening, that it was all fictional (obviously) and we were taken off of the bus.
Army recruiters then raided the school during our lunches to recruit people.
I found this pretty strange. What do you think?
