AR15news.com put together a nice little post yesterday on “building” a budget AR-15 rifle for right around $630 plus or minus shipping fees. These are all milspec quality parts which means no carbon fiber or plastic parts where they should be metal for you skeptics out there. The truth is because everyone maxed out their credit cards during the Sandy Hook Panic, or the great gun panic of 2012, there is now an influx of quality AR-15 parts like lowers, lower parts kits (or LPKs) complete uppers and other extras out there now at fantastic prices with no wait.
AR15News.com’s list shares links to a Palmetto State Armory (PSA) complete upper including bolt carrier group and charging handle, a complete lower parts kit also from PSA and a complete M4 Buffer Tube assembly from Damage Industries. In all these parts equal a 100% complete AR-15 rifle with a fixed front site base. Which means the shooter will need to choose a detachable carry handle rear site or a back up flipper rear iron site and a red dot if he prefers.
This may seem difficult to believe considering the fact that stripped lowers were going for $350 alone and complete milspec M4 rifles were selling for $2500-$3000 just 6 months (or less) ago. And before you get off saying Palmetto State Armory makes cheap crap, remember they’re just down the street from and use FNH-USA (Fabrique Nationale Herstal or FN for short) barrels for their upper assemblies. Not too shabby.
$630 in all. Here is the link to the AR15News.com $630 AR-15 rifle.
