The Backyard Bowyer has created an excellent full photo tutorial showing how to build your own mini crossbow and crossbow bolts. It is a very detailed tutorial which is broken down into small manageable steps. I am not too sure whether this crossbow is powerful enough for hunting, or self-defense etc, or whether it is just a fun crossbow to make for some back yard target practice (although he does make mention of possibly purchasing aluminum bolts for anything other than target practice). Either way, you have to admit, it’s pretty cool. I particularly like the fact that making some wooden crossbow bolts is also covered, the idea of using duct tape for the bolt vanes, is just another illustration of how useful duct tape is… Check out the tutorial below and release the hidden archer inside you.
