Policy Would Bar Social Conservatives From Seeking Office In San Antonio

Anything but absolute approval of any and all sexual deviancy is required in today’s America in order to avoid the vitriol and slander of radical leftists. Both public and private employers across the nation have policies in place designed to stifle free speech by those who support traditional marriage or dare hold a Biblical view of homosexuality. As our cultural pendulum continues its prolonged swing to the left, reports indicate that one major Texas city wants to take even more extreme measures by adopting a sweeping anti-discrimination policy. Area pastor Charles Flowers has been vocal in his criticism of the proposal, which he said would effectively prevent conservative Christians from participating in a number of municipal activities. He contends the prospective ordinance would prevent the city from awarding contracts to those who “have at any point demonstrated a bias,” adding that language in the proposal stops short of “defining what a bias is or who will determine whether or not one has been exercised.” Furthermore, Flowers said, provisions in the policy would mean that anyone critical of sexual perversion would be unable to campaign for or be appointed to city office. He explained that the legal team at Alliance Defending Freedom is examining the proposal and have “never seen this kind of language in any other ordinance in any other city that they’ve dealt with.” Silencing political adversaries through intimidation and other disreputable tactics has long been a common theme of the left. When a major city’s legislators attempt to prevent social conservatives from even entering the public debate as a candidate, I shudder to think what obtuse policies are coming down the pike.
