Two Men Arrested And Tased For Standing In Walmart Parking Lot

Walmart Tasing Arrest This video took place in the aftermath of a “black lives matter” rally in Homewood, Alabama. A few dozen people took part in the peaceful protest, chanting “No Justice, No Peace” and “I can’t breath”, in reference to the choking murder of Eric Garner at the hands of police officers last year. After chanting, participants marched through the parking lot of a local Walmart, and then into the building. The video takes place after the conclusion of the rally and appears to show two men who were still in the Walmart parking lot.

An unidentified man asks Mercutio Terrell Southall Sr. to give him identification, while refusing to identify himself. Mercutio asks why he needs to provide identification, and the unidentified man simply orders the police to arrest him. And like obedient guard dogs, they do, for “criminal trespass” in a Walmart parking lot. Just to show you how absurd this is, many Walmarts have policies that allow travelers to sleep in their parking lots.

Mercutio, motorcycle helmet in hand as he was ready to leave, does not let go of his helmet, and is charged by 5 or 6 officers and then repeatedly tased. Randall Anderson, the man behind the camera is, then told to leave or he will be arrested too. He begins to walk towards his car, but is told he “ran out of time” and is arrested as well.
