By Andrei AKULOVGeneral Guide Mohammed Badie, the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, was arrested early Tuesday, August 20, in Cairo. A state of emergency is in force, hundreds of members of the Muslim Brotherhood have been detained over recent days with the Interior Ministry saying that bombs, weapons and ammunition have been seized. The turmoil following a crackdown on Islamists is on. A curfew is in place and the streets are deserted.
