No Make Up Selfies To promote Awareness For Cancer Charities.

I have not written a blog post for some time but i felt that I had to put fingertips to keys to write a short article about the latest craze or should I say crazy thing that is going on.

A lot of women have been posting photographs of themselves without make up on their faces to raise awareness about cancer and cancer charities. I find this to be quite abhorrent because the cancer charities are raking in millions and they are also paying their senior execs and staff millions per annum.

The public are having their heartstrings plugged as we all know someone who has had or has the BIG C. Thus people donate, get involved in fundraising, wear pink, bequeath from their wills etc.

It is complete nonsense as those involved with these cancer charities are very much involved in one kind of charity and that is the charity of lining their own pockets.

One cancer charity in the UK has published it’s annual accounts, Cancer Research UK, you can view them here but here is a snapshot that really annoyed me:

I think that I am in the wrong business. I should be begging people for money and paying myself and my fellow beggars £107 million per year, or over the last four years nearly £500 million!

Now keep in mind who paul Nurse is and where he went to after cancer Research, climate change assassin with the BBC! he was last seen working for the Royal Society!

Anyway, before you donate to any charity, just remember that big charity is big business.
