The fact that these massive asteroids are only being discovered within hours of near-Earth collision is getting very disturbing.

Just a few hours ago, the Minor Planet Center announced the discovery of a 30-meters large near-Earth asteroid, 2014 DH6. Then just a few hours later, it's reported that due to its orbit, this rock was going to have a very close encounter with the Earth on 23 Feb. Ummm... that's TODAY.

Near-Earth asteroid 2014 DH6:will pass within .0052 AU of earth and, .0037 AU of our moon today. We have been lucky so far but finding these at the last minute is getting concerning.
