Gold closed down $3.15. to $1315.60 (comex closing time ). Silver was down 11 cents to $21.74
In the access market today at 5:15 pm tonight here are the final prices:
gold: $1316.50
silver: $21.68
Today is day 3 of the shutdown and we see no signs of a settlement. The real danger of course is the debt ceiling which must be raised or else the USA defaults. The Republican tea party house members are refusing to budge on Obamacare and the House leader, Boehner refuses to bring the clean continuing resolution bill before the house. The Democrats also refuse to alter Obamacare as it is now low. The Republicans want to merge the C.R.(continuing resolution) and the debt ceiling into one debate. This is quite a battle.
