'Nanny' Bloomberg Objects To Cameras On His Cops (Video)

By Susan Duclos New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, associated with nanny state policies like the use of video surveillance as one of the more effective means to combat crime and an unconstitutional ban of large sugary drinks, is now whining after a judge ruled New York's "stop and frisk" program unconstitutional and ordered that New York cops in certain areas, including Mott Haven in the Bronx, East Harlem in Manhattan, Jamaica and Hollis in Queens, East New York in Brooklyn and the North Shore of Staten Island, be required to wear cameras. Bloomberg's attitude quickly changed when he now asserts "It would be a nightmare,” he said. “We can’t have your cameraman follow you around and film things without people questioning whether they deliberately chose an angle, whether they got the whole picture in." Contrary to Bloomberg's assertion, Judge Scheindlin cited an example of where cops wearing cameras, were completely effective. The example she cites is Rialto, Calif.
